Tuskegee Airmen Vintage-style poster
In a throwback to the past, the Tuskegee Airmen vintage-style poster was illustrated and designed by S. Christopher James to recognize the accomplishments of these great American war heroes.
This Tuskegee Airmen vintage-style poster was created to celebrate the African-American military pilots, navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, and support staff of the 332nd Fighter Group who served during World War II. They were part of the U.S. Army Air Corps, later becoming the U.S. Army Air Forces. The Tuskegee Airmen became one of the war’s most highly respected and successful fighter groups. Known as “Redtails” because of the painted red tail section of their P-51 Mustang fighter planes, their achievements significantly broke down racial barriers in the military, paving the way for desegregation of the armed forces. ©2023
